Rosa Rojas
My love for the Earth, nature, the forest, shadows, and light and dark, attracted me to Zoar Valley were forms and textures helped to convey the rarity of this ancient natural treasure. An ancient place known for its deep gorge and creek running throughout, a diversity of hardwoods, softwoods, conifers, deciduous trees and home to the American Bald Eagle, Osprey, Blue Heron, Red Tail Hawk and others. My work is a reflection of the valleys, sliding slopes, fluvial land masses, truncated spurs and a manifestation of survival.

When the earth meets sky
Where the earth meets North
Ancient trees may live of die
Where the air meets sky
When the air meets East
And the sun is bright and high
When the water meets sky
Where the water meets west
Humankind must learn or die
When the fire meets sky
Where the fire meets South
And the moon is full and high
and the seasons dance
seasons dance
eagles roam
and the eagles roam
in a valley called Zoar
